Project Review
Commercial clients: Our initial contact is to meet the team and determine our role. Where we are in the value chain and our add-value to the team is one of our first assessments. Building a mutual understanding of our role with the client and other professionals from the start strengthens the team and results in efficient use of time and money.

Committees as clients: dpf Design approaches a “committee client” with respect for all members. We seek design solutions that address needs. We openly discuss cost and process so everyone’s concerns are addressed.  Our willingness to listen and educate often creates a harmony among committee members and we have found this process very rewarding.

Design Services

Surface and color specification: Architectural firms often seek us out as a supporting member of their team because of our knowledge regarding the performance of surface materials and our creative use of color.

Space planning: Traffic flow, light and sound control and budgeting for furnished spaces is an important part of a successful project’s design phase. dpf Design provides this service to end-users and architects. Our input at this phase is often practical. We design spaces people can use and maintain over time.

Procurement and installation: Knowing which manufacturers and vendors will deliver is a key part of quality and cost controls when executing a design. dpf Design gets to know the companies we purchase from and develops business partnerships by visiting the factories, meeting the presidents and their key people and attending their trade shows. We select vendors with a track record of social and environmental conscience who have a commitment to domestic production and deliver high quality goods on time.

Installing, the personal touch: dpf Design never sub-contracts the installation services. We bring our team and we do not leave until the last detail is attended to.

Maintenance and housekeeping training: Good design should solve, not create, problems. We enlist the advise of your maintenance staff before we design and take into account their input. We produce a maintenance manual that is pictorial and easy to follow.

Project management and vision-keeping: Overseeing the execution of a design is paramount to managing quality and costs. dpf Design assigns to each project a highly qualified manager, who works closely with all team members. Meetings are held on site as needed during construction phase and monthly accounting is reviewed. When a design specification is determined in the field to be problematic, we are comfortable making the necessary changes while maintaining the integrity of the vision.

Partnerships: No project happens without a collaborative effort on the part of all stakeholders.  We work hard to ensure a respectful collaborative relationship with our clients, colleagues. We understand building sequencing and select vendors who have a track record of delivering quality products on time.
